Services for Job Seekers
The WORX provides job seekers with disabilities with the following services:
Employment Resource Centres
We have fully accessible Employment Resource Centres available in our northeast and downtown Calgary locations. You can drop in and access computers, sign up for employment related workshops, speak to a Career Advisor, and get useful resources.
The WORX facilitates several workshops every week to help develop job search techniques, including topics such as resumes, interview techniques, career tips, essential skills and more. You can view the latest monthly schedule here.
Job Placement Services
The WORX can provide job search support, which includes career advising, employability assessments, employment preparation, direct job placement and retention supports. Our Career Advisors and Employment Placement Specialists will help connect you to the workforce.
The WORX can help you access Disability Related Employment Support (DRES) funding. DRES provides individualized training and employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help attend education and training programs, enter the workforce and maintain employment. Examples of DRES include cost-sharing a workplace accommodation, note-taking services in a lecture setting, as well as vehicle and worksite modifications.
